Temple of the Recling Buddha- Wat Pho
After visiting the Grand Palace we went to visit Wat Pho. (I met a girl at the tourist info centre and we spent the day together!)
It doesnt take long to see this temple, and it was one of my favourites of the trip! A HUGE reclining Buddha statue basically fills the temple, you enter and see the face, and walk the length of His body. You then walk the same length of the back of His body. When walking back, the length of the wall is a line of pots where you can enter change. You give 20 baht to the man and he gives you the pot of coins (otherwise you don’t use many coins in Baht!)
The clink clink sound echoes the temple all the way down- it really is quite magical.
Once you exit this temple, you are connected to other temples and a whole host of other beautiful towers etc. We walked around, took photos and enjoyed the now cooler air!
In the complex was also a school- school had now finished for the day for most kids but it seemed this naughty guy was held back in detention! The look on his face says it all!
