“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance” Oscar Wilde
Happy Valentines day everyone! And special love to you guys for following my blog! 😉
Whether your are single or in a relationship and whoever you are and whatever your circumstances, I truly believe Valentines should be celebrated by everyone. Sure, it’s a ‘Hallmark’ day and it’s just a commercial tactic.. ‘You should show people you love them everyday’ you might say…well yes, you should show people you love them everyday- but do you?.. Really though? If you do- then that is great and I’d love to know how you do it, but for most of us life gets in the way, so at least we can set aside one day in the year. Anyway, that’s not what this post is about- this post is about loving yourself, and how often do you celebrate that?
The thing with Valentines day is there is a lot of focus on the relationship type of love.. But i think the most important love of all is to love yourself. Cheesy i know, but I mean it. You might be single, or your circumstances are otherwise…but we all have one thing in common- we all have ourselves. Ultimately this is what this blog is all about- embracing your interests, styles and individuality- trying new things everyday so you can learn about yourself and love yourself for it.
Love yourself, learn to love your body, accept your imperfections. If you have a feature you don’t like about yourself, or maybe you have an illness or something that holds you back… learn to accept it, and then learn to to love it. If you can’t love these things, how can you feel secure when others do?
If you are worried about being single, and wondering if and when you will meet ‘the one’.. Then stop! It will happen, when it’s supposed to happen. It isn’t in your control- but your feelings and your attitude to life is!
Whether it’s booking one of the many things I’ve blogged about- or even something entirely different. Maybe its finally booking that holiday that you deserve- and perhaps travelling solo for the first time! Do it!! Travelling solo for me was a big step- and I am so proud that I can do it.. it’s now my favourite way to travel!
Remember this life isn’t a dress rehearsal- this is the live show and you won’t get this time again so…
…Live each day like its your last, don’t wait for others and don’t look for excuses. Try something new today, you will be proud that you did- and as always, I’d love to hear about it too!
