Luckily Indian weddings are a few days long- and so I started my trip in Santorini. I flew via Athens but it was an easy journey!
I booked a ferry to continue my journey to Mykonos for a few days later, I was a bit unsure of its reliability as there was not too much information available!
I booked with http://www.go-ferry.com/ferry-santorini-mykonos.html?gclid=COv-i7K5m8sCFcfgGwod2sAA4Q and it was so simple! I took a Seajet ferry and in about 2hrs 45mins I had moved to Mykonos and seen a few islands en route including Naxos and Syros.
Maybe its just because I love the water, and I love the sea- but I could sit on this ferry everyday and not get tired of the view! Truly spectacular!
I took the early morning ferry, I got a cab straight to the port (15 mins drive) and then I enjoyed an al fresco breakfast of orange juice and pain au chocolat.
From the air from Mykonos to Athens I also enjoyed some great views- but travelling on the ferry was convenient and fun! I often get sea sick, but despite also being hungover I had no problems! There was no pharmacy nearby or on board so bring anti sea sickness tablets with you!
I paid an extra €4 for a business class seat! There really isn't much of a difference but was glad for the window view. I also got the row to myself whilst economy was fully booked up! The seats are a little bit more spacious- but economy looked great too!
Arriving in Mykonos was easy, I retrieved my suitcase and disembarked and the kind driver with the car from St John hotel was already there to greet me!
Next time I travel Greece, I will use the ferry and stop off at some of the other islands as well!
