As you may have seen from previous posts or on my Instagram and Twitter, Inception Group bars are my favourite in London. Mr Fogg’s Residence, Mr Fogg’s Tavern and Cahoots are my favourite places in London!
Despite regularly stalking them on Facebook somehow I missed the publicity on the Squiffy picnic! Having recently visited the Mr Fogg’s Tipsy Tea- I could not have been more pleased when this was my Valentine’s Day surprise!!! This (and Tipsy Tea) are the coolest boozy brunches in London!
Follow the signs to the trains, and make your way down into the station. The station is all 1940’s theme, the recorded sounds of trains are just brilliant! In fact if you go to the toilets you can hear a recording to teach you some cockney rhyming slang! Going to the toilet at an Inception Group bar is always a funny themed experience! Don’t forget to read the Syphilis posters as well!
Words cannot describe how amazing this bar is- the decor, the staff, the drinks. One part of the bar is designed to look like a train carriage. The other looks like benches on a platform or in a waiting room. The staff are dressed in 1940’s gear and they are always smiling and ready to help. Suitcases, tube maps and platform information is always available!
The squiffy picnic in typical Cahoots fashion is totally in theme. Receive a brown bag with sandwiches & crisps..some cucumber and carrots in hummus upon arrival. You also have a delicious Swig to welcome your arrival.
The table is covered with a picnic blanket and there is a vintage thermos and plastic crockery adorning the table.
It is time to order my hamper so I went for the bottle of champagne and Vodka hip flask for £72, money well spent. There’s also Gin options which is £46 as well.
Enjoy your picnic with some amazing live music.. Audience participation may be required! Construct your own model airplane and fly them around the room! If this place doesn’t put you in a good mood- nothing will.
I’d put Cahoots and the Squiffy picnic very high up in your places to go wish list- you won’t be disappointed!!
