I promise I have not filtered or edited any of my photos. The trouble is- i don’t even know how to!
The White Temple is just as beautiful and just as surreal as these photos. A beautiful white backdrop amongst the water, blue sky and very green grass. I visited this gorgeous place as part of the 1 day Golden Triangle tour. Check my blog post about it here.
The toilets are gold! Which made me laugh!
The white signifies purity… And it truly is one of the most memorable temples ive ever seen! Its a very modern temple- inside you will find paintings of fairies, spiderman, batman and many other super heroes.
The moral of the painting is- come to the temple and pray, but be your own hero! Its only us that can make this beautiful world a better place (that last sentence was my 2pence worth!)
When you walk into the temple you have these rather scary looking stone made hands below you as you walk on this bridge. These hands represent Hell.., you walk towards the tusks (not ivory, dont worry!) which represents heaven.
Whatever you do- don’t look bad and don’t turn around on the bridge. This is a bad omen and it is believed you will go to hell if you do! And the man on the megaphone will certainly remind you and the whole temple of it in the event of someone making that mistake!
This temple is very popular (and rightly so!) so be patient with the crowds, and try not to get pushed around too much inside the temple itself.
I visited this temple as part of my 1 day Golden Triangle tour starting from Chiang Mai. Id recommend anyone who can to go there- but it is a good 3 hours from Chiang Mai!
